“Best-In-Class”
I.B.E.W. Local 466 provides our contractors with quality electricians who are drug-tested and safety-trained by O.S.H.A. standards at no additional cost to the contractors. We also offer quality healthcare and retirement plans to our members, ensuring that we can provide contractors with top talent for every job. This enables our signatory contractors to save the time and money they would spend on recruitment advertisements and job interviews – and they never have to worry about a training program!
Training
I.B.E.W. Local 466 trains our members through our nationally recognized apprenticeship training and journeyman upgrade programs, which are maintained by the National Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (NJATC) and are certified by the United States Department of Labor – Bureau of Apprenticeship & Training.
Hiring
I.B.E.W. Local 466 helps keep costs down for our signatory contractors by providing them with additional electricians whenever they need for an expanded workforce, or the opportunity to reconfigure their crews altogether using Local 1340 workers. We also offer our contractors the option of upgrade training for their current workforces and the advantages of bidding on out-of-town jobs.
Employee Classifications
I.B.E.W. Local 466 Construction Wiremen/Construction Electrician Classifications incorporate seven classifications of pay that make our contractors more competitive by allowing them to effectively develop skilled, employable electricians – which better positions our contractors to get more work and capture more market share.

HR Administration
The staff of I.B.E.W. Local 466 handles all of the responsibilities associated with group benefit plans for our contractors, and we implement the entire program and the cost is part of the all-inclusive hourly rate you pay I.B.E.W. workers as needed. This allows our contractors the ability to offer the kind of quality healthcare and retirement plans that attract the industry’s best – with none of the costs and hassles of administering such plans. |
